Some of the conversations I have with my guests simply exceed all expectations.
This podcast exists to give voice to the performers we see on stages around the world. As dance entertainers, we are rarely asked the important questions.
We are so infrequently offered the opportunity to pair the story of our acts with the inspiration that drives our ideas into existence in a burlesque routine. For that, I’m so proud of these interviews!
Carmen Dea Untamed, a pole artist and burlesque performer based in Iceland, connected so well with me!
Despite being a bit (needlessly) self-conscious of her English-speaking, Carmen had no issues expressing so many heartfelt convictions.
Her sentiments were returned, as I felt similarly about body politics, stripper culture, and support for sex workers.
