Meet the wickedly smart, totally determined, Gitana Rose.
This LA-based performer has a powerful, smoldering gaze and embodies the bold colors she often wears.
One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation – in which we talk about some of our favorite art and having once been “rebellious” (aka expressive) teenagers – is how hard it can be to lose friends as you become a burlesque artist or stripper.
This loss is something that strengthens and bonds us as performers. Many stage artists can speak to the truth of this, it is profoundly disappointing to see loved ones fall away as you step into your personal power.
Working with your body, in the entertainment industry, changes our relationships with others, and changes their view of us.
What Gitana and I know, as burlesque sisters, is the supportive people you need around you WILL clap for you. We see them. We love them. We are them.
Enjoy the interview!
