Over the past 20 years burlesque clubs have exploded in popularity all over the country. While some of our venues are much older than that, we have a good variety of modern speakeasy establishments, dive-bars, and classics!
The Boom Boom Room – St. Louis
The Boom Boom Room is a 1920’s style speakeasy in downtown St. Louis. Nightly entertainment features the in-house cabaret troupe The Boom Boom Bombshells. Acts include burlesque, comedy, aerial dance, contortion, fire performance and more. It’s a must-see if you are traveling to St. Louis!
DNA Lounge – Oakland
Owned by famed computer programmer and founder of Mozilla, Jamie Zawinski, music venue and burlesque club DNA Lounge is the home of San Francisco’s best entertainment. On our list of the best burlesque shows, Hubba Hubba Revue hosts a weekly show every Monday, with a large production every month. DNA Lounge is not strictly burlesque, but showcases some amazing EDM, metal & rock shows.
Slipper Room – NYC
A NYC legend, the Slipper Room is a throwback to the original Lower East Side of Manhattan before gentrification. After being fined under prohibition-era “cabaret laws” for patrons dancing in the club, the Slipper Room fought back, eventually getting the esoteric laws changed. Opening in 1999, this cabaret and neo-burlesque venue recommends you “come often, it’s never the same show twice.”
Bugsy’s Cabaret Showroom – Las Vegas, NV
Located in the Flamingo Hotel, and host to the famous X-Burlesque show, Bugsy’s Cabaret Showroom offers a throwback to the mobster days of Las Vegas. The burlesque theater is named after legendary mobster Bugsy Siegel, who was instrumental in the Flamingo’s official opening in 1947. Bugsy’s Cabaret Showroom presents burlesque performances Thursday through Sunday.
Bordel – Chicago
In the heart of Wicker Park in Chicago, burlesque club Bordel is a laid back cabaret and speakeasy bar. True to it’s speakeasy motif, the entrance to the club is an unmarked hidden door. Every Thursday Bordel presents – Vaudeville – with burlesque acts curated by Sally Marvel and AJ Le Sacc.
Club Z – Las Vegas, NV
Burlesque hot-spot Club Z is located within Las Vegas’ V Theater, and is host to the sexy and ghoulish Zombie Burlesque. Easily the #1 risque zombie burlesque entertainment in America. Direct yourself to the Planet Hollywood Resort on the Vegas Strip, this an amazing place to catch a performance!
The Triple Door – Seattle, WA
Home of the Atomic Bombshells for the last 12 seasons, The Triple Door is a historic theater located in Downtown Seattle. What might be considered a music venue, it most certainly doubles as a burlesque club. The Triple Door not only hosts monthly Atomic Bombshell events, but home of the Seattle Boylesque Festival, Kitten & Lou Presents and more.
Viva’s Lounge – Dallas, TX
Just like everything in Texas, Viva’s Lounge is an enormous burlesque club, over 8200 square feet! Home of Viva Dallas Burlesque, this venue has big monthly productions that you just can’t miss. With shows like Cirque du Burlesque & Talk Nerdy to Me, every performance is different!
Harvelle’s – Santa Monica, CA
Located just west of downtown Los Angeles, Harvelle’s is one of the oldest live venues in Santa Monica, opening it’s doors in 1931! Featuring weekly performances by in-house troupe Harlow Gold, this burlesque club is a “must-go” if you are passing through the L.A. area!
The AllWays Lounge & Theatre – New Orleans, LA
No list of burlesque clubs would be complete without a mention of the Big Easy. The AllWays Lounge & Threatre in New Orleans is exactly what you’d expect from this party town. Home of the AllWays Lounge Peep Show & other steamy nightly burlesque events, this is the place you want to be.
